A delightful meal it always is, this grandma’s recipe for snail delite. A tantalizing treatment for your family and friends. Always treat for that visitor you want to surprise and grandma insists you can settle a difficult dispute and win a contract any day just by serving a sizzling bowl of snail delite to the table. Lol.

For me, I think you can never go wrong when you add this to your menu.

Snails are a load up lean protein, They possess anti-cancer properties and boost the immune system due to their antioxidants and anti-inflammatory property. They contain essential fatty acids, calcium, iron, selenium, magnesium and are a rich source of vitamins E, A, K and B12.

They are okeyed if you are mindful of weight or high blood pressure and generally speaking, you just can’t fault a meal time garnished with a spicy bowl of snail delite, belive me I know.

The ingredients and method of preparation are very pocket friendly and easy as I am about to show you after we get our condiments ready. So off the the market we go.

  1. First of course, snails. I like them big, really big ones. These we have to remove from the shell and wash and to get rid of the slim, we have to wash with salt or alom. I prefer salt.
  2. A few leafs of scent basil or garden egg leafs. This we wash and shred.
  3. A handful of Irish potatoes, we will need to peel, wash and cut to cubes.
  4. One small sized onion bulb.
  5. A bit of turmeric powder.
  6. Dry grind Cameroon peppers to your heat endurance ability.
  7. Some dry grind ginger powder.
  8. Seasonings and salt to taste.

Now that we have all we will need for thus meal, we move to the kitchen for the fun.

  1. So we have our snails deshelled and washed already, time to put them in a cooking pot.
  2. Add some water and place on the fire.
  3. We now need to introduce the cubes of Irish potatoes.
  4. Next the grind dry ginger powder and Cameroon peppers.
  5. Add the turmeric powder.
  6. Salt and season to you taste and alow to cook for about five minutes.
  7. Then time for the shredded leafy vegetables and onion and cook for another ten minutes then our snail delite is ready to be served.

NB: Snail don’t take much time to cook especially if they are the smaller sized ones so do beware of overcooking it and making it overly tender because snail delite is supposed to be served chronchy.

You can serve your snail delite with any other main meal or you can just choose to serve it as snack, however you choose to enjoy your snail delite by grandma’s recipe, the fun is guaranteed. So go ahead and give this recipe a try and come gist us all and out it.
